During the evening of December 20th a second major snowfall began, it lasted through the night and continued into most of Sunday the 21st. By the time Drew arrived on December 23rd our apartment complex had received about 18 inches of snow with very little melting. Even on the now hard-packed sledding hill there was plenty of snow for Brittany and Drew to sled together, throw snowballs and build a snowman.

Keep in mind that while national and local media outlets were reporting on Seattle's conditions on the roads, at the airport, school closures, buses hanging over I-5, and collapsing ice arena tents, etc., our kids were in heaven on earth. Drew could not recall snow like this, having experienced it only once before - as a 3-year old during the winter we left Ohio. Brittany had never experienced this having lived her entire life in Florida.
